I was born and raised in Ontario, in the small town of Aurora just outside Toronto. I am a university student currently studying theatre, history and everything Canadian. I am die-hard Billy Talent fan but will pretty much listen to any kind of music. I am immensely passionate about the arts. I live for live theatre and plan to be in the professional world of theatre someday soon as an actor/playwright.
In the meantime besides getting my degree I am a volunteer speaker for the MS Society. I started off as a read-a-thon speaker in 2008. Since then I have had the opportunity to speak to the Ontario Fundraising team, at volunteer appreciation night, at the Dinner for Champions, and for Health Partners. I am also a peer support volunteer at MS Summer Camp and was made last year’s Ambassador for A&W’s Cruisin For a Cause campaign. I am a scholarship recipient, part of the MS Youth Advisory Group (YAG) and was finally able to go volunteer at my local MS walk for the first time this past April.
Did I mention I live with MS? I was diagnosed in 2007 when I was only 17 and am so incredibly excited that we can finally build an online community for young people with MS.
